Tim first began experimenting with sound as a six year old playing in the grain silos on his parents farm. After attending Film School in 1990 he has since gone on to contribute to over 30 feature films, along with many short films, documentaries and TV drama series.
Recent highlights include: The Warrior's Way, Under The Mountain, The Volcano, 30 Days of Night, Bridge To Terabithia, World's Fastest Indian and Perfect Strangers.
Tim is also passionate about music; collaborating with composers and music editors on film projects as well as producing his own musique concrete.

RAY BEENTJES

Ray's career in sound started in 1988, firstly specialising in field sound recording and sound post for documentary, working with the Natural History Unit of Dunedin, NZ. He moved to Wellington in 1992 and moved into a split of location sound recording and sound effects editing. Over the last decade he has focussed on film dialogue editing and supervision but continues to work in sound design on an number of films, dramatic documentaries and Interactive Museum installations.
Projects include: The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Warrior's Way, Matariki, Rubbings from a Live Man, Land of the Long White Cloud, The Waterhorse, King Kong, The World's Fastest Indian.
Ray has 2 NZ Film and TV Awards, one Cinema Audio Society (USA) award and has been nominated for 4 MPSE Golden Reel Awards.

JASON CANOVAS

Jason began his film sound career in New York in 1991, and spent six years working in the U.S. at Sound One and Todd AO studios.
From there, he went to London, spending time at De Lane Lea and Goldcrest studios, before moving to New Zealand in 2000 to take up a senior Dialogue Editing position on The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Jason chose to remain in New Zealand after The Lord of the Rings and is raising his family here. He has continued to freelance as a dialogue editor and supervising sound editor in both New Zealand and the UK.

CHRIS TODD

Chris edited his first film on Super 8 in 1975. By the mid 1980s he was assistant Þlm editor to Oscar-nominated Michael Horton. He moved on to edit two features, eight TV drama series, 19 feature documentaries, 10 theatrical short Þlms.
Over the last decade He's been dialogue editing theatrical feature Þlms. At the beginning of 2010 he has dialogue editor and supervising dialogue editor credits on 18 features including Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings (2002), Roger Donaldson's World's Fastest Indian (2005), Jonathan King's Black Sheep (2006), David Slade's 30 Days of Night (2007) and Taika Waititi's Boy (2009).
Chris is an NZ Film and TV award winner and an MPSE Golden Reel award nominee.

POLLY MCKINNON

Polly studied Audio Engineering and Music production at MAINZ, graduating at the end of 1997. She spent the next two years as an intern at Wellington studio Pacific Sound, where she was an assistant engineer for many orchestral and chamber music recordings, and an assistant sound editor on a number of short films.
She has freelanced as a dialogue editor and supervisor since 2000, contributing to the soundtracks of more than 20 feature films, over 60 hours of TV drama and comedy, and several feature-length documentaries.
Polly has 2 NZ Film and TV Awards, and has been nominated for 4 MPSE Golden Reel Awards.

MELANIE GRAHAM

Mel has worked as FX editor and Mixer since 1996. Her editing credits include District 9, King Kong, 30 Days of Night and The Lovely Bones and she has completed final and temp mixes for various films, short films and television shows.
She won a NZ Film and TV Award for her contribution to Gaylene Preston's "Earthquake" documentary, and been nominated for two MPSE Golden Reel awards..
Mel has a background in music, and is interested in cooking, art, gardening, the environment, professional wrestling and recently has had a knitting renaissance.

MARTIN KWOK

Martin studied Audio Engineering at Sydney's JMC Academy, graduating in 1999. From there he took a post-production position at Song Zu studios in Sydney, primarily as a music editor for television productions. He began his film career on The Lord of the Rings trilogy in the dialogue department. Since 2006 he has been a dialogue and ADR editor on projects such as Bridge to Terabithia, The Waterhorse and The Lovely Bones.
Martin is passionate about music, producing and presenting jazz shows for Radio New Zealand, as well as DJing and producing his own music.

JUSTIN WEBSTER

Justin became interested in sound through a love of music and technology. He studied Audio Engineering in Auckland before moving to the northern hemisphere where he spent two years in London working as a recording engineer and touring Europe as a front-of-house engineer for a Dutch funk/hip-hop group. He returned to New Zealand in 2002 to join the soundpost team on The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and discovered a passion for film and the filmmaking process.
Justin's skills as a software developer are invaluable to this team and his Maggot Software suite of applications, developed to meet the unique workflow challenges we often face, has become widely used throughout the post-production industry worldwide. These skills and his ties with other software manufacturers in the industry mean we are often blessed with customised workflow solutions and new ways of working which give the Wellington industry a distinct edge.

NEIL ALDRIDGE

Neil has been working in sound since 1990, spending many years as a successful music engineer in London, where he worked with the likes of Rod Stewart, Emma Bunton, and All Saints. He has carried out sound design for museum and aquarium installations, taught Audio Engineering, and set up the sound library for a major publishing company.
Since arriving in New Zealand he has worked as a dialogue editor, ADR recordist, and written a software application to aid with the ADR process. His credits include Avatar, The Lovely Bones, District 9, 30 Days of Night, and King Kong.
Neil holds a first class honours degree in Recording Arts.

Stephen studied Music Composition at Victoria University in Wellington completing an honours degree in 1997. He began his music career in television and has composed scores for TV, documentary, and film.
